A Biofuel Market Strategy

Advanced Biofuel Commercialization Strategy

Fueling the Future

LQM approaches the challenge of bringing better biofuels to market by asking the customer first. The Short-haul ethanol™ business model is a biofuels market innovation. It is the industry’s first attempt to actually meet the customer’s needs.

LQM’s innovation lies in its ability to solve a marketplace problem - in this case, produce a sustainable renewable fuel that can easily be used as a gasoline blendstock meeting fuel specification requirements, and still provides a hi-protein feed co-product for our feed customers.

The LQM competitive advantage lies in maximizing the utilization of existing infrastructure at every level, from production (LQM ethanol facility, to existing efficient feedstocks), to distribution (trucks, pipelines and troughs), to consumption (blending terminals and feed rations).

In the near future, LQM is adding Short-haul butanol™ to its product mix. Bio-butanol, with its clear advantages over ethanol with respect to fuel specifications, precisely fits this vision for a sustainable future to prosper beyond ethanol.

To maintain its competitiveness, LQM has enacted an advanced biofuel commercialization strategy to accomodate the development of cellulosic-based biofuels in its production profile. Measuring success against sustainability, as well as profitability, the LQM advanced biofuel commercialization strategy aims to improve the biofuel gallons per acre yield, another measure of competitiveness and environmental sustainability.
